Plugin Installation
Get the FrameFlow Fusion extension running in DaVinci Resolve 18.5 and Blackmagic Cloud in under three minutes.
Download the `frameflow-resolve-v4.2.1.resolveext` package from your dashboard. Extract the archive and move the `FrameFlow_Stock` folder into your local Fusion plugins directory (`~/.local/share/DaVinciResolve/Support/Fusion/Plugins/` on macOS/Linux or `C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\Fusion\Plugins\` on Windows). Launch Resolve, navigate to Preferences > Fusion > Plugins, and check the box next to FrameFlow. The extension will appear under the Stock & Assets tab in the Fusion toolbar.
System Requirements
DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.5+, 16GB RAM minimum, macOS 13+ / Windows 11 / Ubuntu 22.04. Requires active internet connection for license validation and asset verification.
Troubleshooting
If the plugin fails to load, verify that OpenColorIO is enabled in your project settings. Clear the Fusion cache via `~/.cache/DaVinciResolve/Fusion/` and restart the application.
Media Pool Synchronization
Mirror your FrameFlow library directly into the DaVinci Resolve Media Pool without manual file transfers.
Right-click any bin in your Media Pool and select Sync FrameFlow Assets. The extension queries the FrameFlow API and creates smart bins matching your purchase history and favorites. Each clip imports with embedded XMP metadata, including shutter angle, ISO settings, and native color space tags. Optimized media generation is automatic: 10-bit ProRes LT files are created alongside the original 4K H.265 master files, ensuring smooth playback on mid-range workstations. Synchronization runs asynchronously in the background and respects your existing project folder structure.
Smart Bin Filtering
Filter synced assets by frame rate (23.976, 24, 25, 30, 60fps), resolution (3840x2160, 4096x2160), or camera platform (Sony FX3, BMPCC 6K, RED V-Raptor). Apply filters before dropping into the timeline to avoid media offline errors.
Auto-Generated Relinks
FrameFlow maintains a hidden `.resolve` sidecar file for every imported asset. When you switch between optimized, generated, and original media modes, relinks resolve instantly without manual path mapping.
Color Grading Presets
Apply production-ready LUTs and node trees automatically when you drop FrameFlow footage into your timeline.
Every FrameFlow clip ships with a matching `.cube` and `.3dl` LUT pair. When enabled in the plugin settings, the extension injects a two-node OpenFX structure directly into your Color page node tree. Node 1 handles log-to-rec709 conversion using the original camera profile (e.g., S-Log3 to Rec.709, V-Log to ACEScg). Node 2 applies the curated creative LUT, pre-calibrated for Rec.709 monitoring. You can stack additional LUTs via the primary wheels without breaking the injection chain. The preset manager includes 48 graded profiles, including Kodak 5207 Daylight emulation, ARRI LogC cinematic contrast, and Fujifilm Velvia saturation curves.
ACES Workflow Support
Set your project color management to ACES. The plugin automatically converts the injected LUTs to ACEScg space, preserving highlight roll-off and preventing clipping in the 10-bit timeline.
One-Click Grading
Select multiple clips on the timeline and press Ctrl+Alt+L (Cmd+Opt+L on Mac) to batch-apply the FrameFlow preset chain. Adjust the intensity slider in the inspector to blend between the raw log grade and the final creative look.
